Ebay Unveils New Shopping Index

Early last week, Ebay unveiled Ebay Pop, a new consumer report type service that lists top selling consumer products along with their going prices. Ebay teamed up with Mpire, Inc., a start-up data analysis company, to produce this shopping index which helps determine the shopping trends of online buyers.
Although Ebay is the first to introduce the Mpire service, beginning next year Mpire plans to release a broader version that will work across shopping sites such as Craigslist.
