Craigslist Marketing Tip of the Week

Unlike eBay, Craigslist does not feature a feedback system that allows new buyers to review your reputation and hear from past customers. The task of building trust will have to be executed by you, the seller.
After each sale, send an e-mail to the customer asking for feedback or create a form on your website to collect it. Make sure you get approval from them to use their name or a name they feel comfortable providing and let them know you may use it in your future posts.
Once you start to accumulate good feedback, create a page on your website showing all your testimonials from past customers and feature 1 or 2 in every ad you post. Direct people to your feedback page in your post and when you respond to e-mails.
It really makes a huge difference to people when dealing in a generally anonymous environment. This is especially true when someone is buying high-end services or products. However, it is always useful as a tool to set you apart from competitors.
Included in the book are some other ways to gain an edge over competitors, see Chapter 4 – Craigslist Datamining for more detailed info. This chapter also includes one of my signature secrets that everyone goes “Oh my, how smart – I have never thought of that before."
