Craigslist Produces Huge Response for Small Business

As a devoted Craigslist follower, I just love it when I read that a business is using only Craigslist now as their primary advertising vehicle. The best part is when they tried newspaper classifieds and the yellow pages and came to the conclusion that Craigslist just works better.

In the case used in this article, an owner of an internet café/Laundromat in San Francisco placed an ad in the San Francisco Chronicle classifieds and one on Craigslist. The Chronicle ad produced 4 responses and the Craigslist ad produced over 400.

The numbers are staggering, but it is a reality for many businesses who have realized the value of Craigslist.

Aside from the obvious benefits, Craigslist will also impact other advertising mediums soon too. Newspapers will need to be more competitive to keep small business money in play, same goes for online portals, yellow pages and more. Craigslist is changing the landscape of online marketing and small business wins in the end.
